I don't suppose you have a mineral water?

.

NEW DELHI (Reuters) - A hardline Hindu organization, known for its opposition to "corrupting" Western food imports, is planning to launch a new soft drink made from cow's urine, often seen as sacred in parts of India.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), or National Volunteer Corps, said the bovine beverage is undergoing laboratory tests for the next 2 to 3 months but did not give a specific date for its commercial release.

The flavor is not yet known, but the RSS said the liquid produced by Hinduism's revered holy cows is being mixed with products such as aloe vera and gooseberry to fight diseases such as diabetes and cancer.

  1. Now that's a marketing challenge.

Did Dr.Pepper do blind tastings to prove that? Please remind me not to do any blind tastings.

  11. lol to Cosmo.

I think its a great idea... and think that the marketing will be easy. It clearly wont appeal to the masses of the world, but in its target market I bet it does ok.

When I was trying to get pregnant years ago, I took a Pergonal and Metordin cobo to induce ovulation. One of the drugs was derived from the urine of post menopausal nuns!http://www.prnewswire.co.uk/cgi/news/release?id=54487
    It worked... 3 kids!

  13. ....and, over here (Americas) they've been giving 'diet' such a rap on the knuckles, I'm sure some would consider the urine as healthier.

    Notes on the bit, though.
The (Ceasarian) Romans used to collect their horses pee, save it for a period of time, then drink it.

Makes me ever so glad I was never in the Roman army.

  14. Still, if you are willing to put pee on your face in the form of face cream or in your hair as shampoo, then why not drink it?

I can't wait to see the advertising campaigns...

    I know you don't like awards, but I felt you needed it. {*grin*}

The rules and the award are here if you want them. (and even if you don't!)

  16. Yes, the Romans used to collect urine. They would use it as a mouthwash to whiten their teeth.(If I remember my history)
    And does Diane keep horses?
Says the man with the stained teeth.

  17. Loved Helene's comment about the "urine of post-menopausal nuns". I think that upstages the cows urine by some factor.
(Can you imagine them collecting and bottling it?)
