We are alive and well. City folk are pretty shielded from the fires. It is the people who live on the fringes of the city, where it meet the bush, that bear most of the brunt.
The depressing thing is that, even though the weather is cooler, the fires continue to burn as the countryside is so dry.

I could not tear myself away from the TV this morning, it's so sad, scary and depressing! When the journalist started to cry with the people I lost it too. We all here feel for those poor people, what a tragidy. Our hot weather is coming this week we hear.

All of you down there are in my thoughts and prayers tonight. Be safe and well, my bloggy friend.

Good to hear you are okay. Nasty stuff and it looks as bad as anything we have had here in California.
ReplyDeleteI hope everything will be better.
ReplyDeleteRead in the papers today that they suspect it could be the work of arsonists.
I hope it's the work of mother nature because I just can't accept the fact that there are stupid living creatures that call themselves human beings out there.
I have been waiting to read this on your blog. With the temperature rising I guessed that you must be close to this catastrophy. Take care..BW Blu
ReplyDeleteDear Lee, keep looking after yourselves, and anyone else you can.

Happy to hear you are safe - what devastation for those that weren't and aren't.
ReplyDeleteLee dear I'm so pleased that you and your family are safe. ♥
ReplyDeleteI have been watching the news reports on TV, it is such a disaster of huge proportions, the fires are so widespread, terrible that so many lives have been lost and more people unaccounted for.
Animals and stock as well.
What a feeling of helplessness for those who have lost everything, it would be so difficult to start all over again, what a hard future they have ahead of them, so very sad. ♥
glad that you guys are ok.
ReplyDeleteGlad you and yours are safe. Stunning images, I only hope you didn't take them?
ReplyDeleteWatched the news coverage last night, it was devastating : (
ReplyDeleteEspecially when you hear the word arsonist : (
Pouring rain is much needed in places still in flames.
Glad to know you and your family are safe. What a devastating act.
ReplyDeleteVery, very sad to hear the stories on the news, thoughts are with all those affected by the fires, including the crews battling, the rescue personnel, the volunteers. It's hard to imagine the speed with which these fires have been moving.
ReplyDeleteSo sad.
Take care.
