Dropped in at the Miri Petroleum Museum today.
Only had water, bathers, towel, sunglasses and rain coat in the backpack so left it in the locked van.
Came out to find the van window kicked in and the backpack gone.
Poo.
The sunglasses are prescription so I hope they get a headache wearing them.
Museum was interesting, by the way.

Hliza & C0: any shops for replacement items you would recommend in Malacca?
...
Lee, you can find all those in a mall called Mahkota Parade just walking distance from the Equatorial Hotel.
ReplyDeleteOr ask the trishaw riders to bring you to the cheaper shops around.Definitely cheaper..but quality I can't say.
ReplyDeleteYou know, there's a whole industry there. A group of undercover story-makers who go around stealing things from tourists, just so that they have a colourful story to tell on their return.
ReplyDeleteGlad you've had lots of fun so far (despite the theft) and continue to do so. :-)
thanks for all the great pictures. I am enjoying the catching up today. sorry to hear about the invasion of personal space and theft. it seems there are lots of things that are the same no matter where you go.
ReplyDeleteGlad there was nothing more valuable in your backpack. I'm enjoying my virtual vacation with you and Margaret!
ReplyDelete.... i am really sorry for the loss of your backpack. it really irks me as a malaysian, although i live in malacca, the other side of malaysia.
ReplyDeleteanyway my two girlfriends told me that they will entertain your stay here in malacca. i hope you enjoy your stay, and please... indulge yourself by giving true-to-the-face comments.
some of us found them entertaining :)
Oh I agree bugger! At least on the positive side you did not loose any valuables. I love that bamboo bridge.
ReplyDeleteHow maddening that someone stole your things! I hope they get a headache AND get caught.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your visit with Hliza! I wish I could meet her!
