He he..many times I missed the nicest things when I travel in a strange place just because I hope my mind can freeze the moment without camera help..but in the end I'll regret it. At least if I see the photo and try hard enough, I'll remember how it felt before.
I took dozens of photos of the fireworks on Sydney Harbour Bridge, New Year's Eve, 2000, the real Millennium according to pedants like myself. As a result I've got a lot of indifferent images and no real memory of the event itself - I remember thinking as we walked back to Cath's flat at Wooloomooloo that I'd missed something.
