. The third last shuttle launch. Wish i could see one of them go up. Had considered it in the last trip I did but, because the launch date is fluid, couldn't plan it in.
I've seen several launches but not from close-up. I'm about an hour north of the Cape so they are easily visible from this area. Never fails to give me goosebumps and even bring a tear. The aftershock from take-off (and when they land in FL) rattles the windows in my house.
Specifically etched in memory was the Challenger explosion. I was on the beach at the moment it happened. Watched the bits of fire tumbling downward and ran home to see the news. Horrible, horrible day.
We will just have to settle for watching them on the news. xoxo ♡
