They mean well but...


It's not really until you are feeling less than happy with the world that you realise how often the little tartlets at the various supermarket checkouts say "Have a nice day".

It doesn't half hurt.

  1. It has become such a mindless comment. Slaps have almost been the result, on really bad days.

  2. I suppose it has become another of those mindless phrases that we humans use to avoid actually talking to one another. (Like "how do you do" - I wonder if the questioner would really like to hear a truthful answer, at length?)
