There is something about Magpies that I find appealing. Mind you, I have never been attacked by one!
They can be very territorial and defensive during breeding season but these suburban ones seem to have gotten used to people and don't attack. Except when I go out with food in the morning, they try to land on my head. As a boy in the country I was knocked off my bike on occasion by the magpies.
Yep...just like the poor mistreated maggies around my place who have to survive on the off-cuts from my cats' meat or the meat they leave behind...it's such a shame. Same goes for the poor kookaburras and butcher birds who wait at my back door! ;)
Do you insist on this black and white minstrel singing for his supper?Brave man.
I love magpies, cheeky things. But this one, he's especially lovely, you have the most interesting birds. And lorikeets. Just the name is musical, do they have a beautiful song?
are same as crows and raven? kinda have that magic and witchy look.
Wow, too pretty!!
wow! what beautiful birds you Ausssies have! Lucky! Magpies look really big. Bigger than a seagull? pelican? thats what I have around here.
Whilst beautiful birds, magpies are a pest in this country, taking eggs and young birds from their nests
How cute, don't think i've ever seen one of those.
Magpies are a favorite....always so busy, so intelligent. a lot going on.
