Smashing shot, Witherspoon!

Margaret, Richard and I headed to the local oval on Saurday, armed with cold chicken, grapes, champagne and sundry nibblies, to watch a local cricket match.

I have no idea who was playing but we took great delight in cheering good shots and the fall of wickets with things like "Oh, cracking shot, Curruthers!" and "Oh, I say, that was a damn fine ball, Abernathy!".

We did get a few funny looks from the players on both sides but, hey, we had a great time.

  1. I was going to say it sounded much like a British movie.......do they actually talk that way, well yes I guess that they do. But it does sound fun and funny. For me the food would have been the best part. haha

  2. Sounds like a fun afternoon, Lee...did you run into Chief Inspector Barnaby of Midsomer Murders? I wondered where you disappeared to over the weekend!

I'm presently watching the Super Bowl.

  4. We pukka sahibs must stick together old chap - there are not many of us left. I hope you enjoyed tiffin after the match. (Salmon and cucumber sandwiches with a large glass of Pimms for preference, you know). Chin, Chin!
