Well, yeah, your point is what?

US researchers have discovered that the chemicals used in frying pans can raise your cholesterol levels. (Text)

I think they were trying to rustle up a scare campaign about Teflon but there are worse chemicals in your frying pan if you are worried about your cholesterol level.

  1. a pie made with lard tastes better than a pie made with anything else!

  2. Ah, it's not WHAT you eat, it's HOW MUCH you eat of it!

  3. Oh yes Lee, it's the quantity that counts.

  4. Moderation is always a good thing.
uh...not comment moderation, food and beverage moderation. Oh, you know what I mean.

  5. phwee, don't use either. that is teflon pans and lard.

  6. When I was a kid in Lancashire the Fish and Chip shops deep fried in lard. My auntie had a friend who owned a "Chippy".
The frying vats were solid white in the early morning before the staff fired up the gas ranges. Delivery lorry drivers wheeled sack trucks full of blocks of fresh lard to the store room every few weeks.

  7. All this talk about Teflon and lard is very helpful this morning. It's a fosoamax day so I have to wait an hour before I can eat...

  8. I had to getting take out for lunch at a nearby restaurant because they would have small black scraps in there. It's either burnt bits or the pan flaking. Both are not desirable on a daily basis.
