Nomads on the Gobi.

We visited a nomad family.  You can see the lady of the house, above.  We politely accept4ed the salty white tea, aftaid to ask why it was white (Yak, cattle, camel, goat, sheep are all possibilities).

We nibbled cautiously on dried yoghurt - about 6mm thick it had the taste and texture of an unglazed bathroom tile.  But we nibbled anyway.

Quite fascinating to talk to though (through an interpreter.)

If you get the chance, have a look at "The weeping camel"(Alt title : When the camel weeps).  It is slow and not really a film for the guys but gives a very good portrayal of the life of the nomads on the Gobi desert.
