I am here!

.

Life goes on, gainfully employed and all.

It is an interesting job, getting some order into a lab. But the people above me are supportive and the people below are appreciative so it is almost as good as it gets. That's not to say taht there aren't problems but we are getting there.

I have to do a telephone conference later in the week with our French masters regarding the way forward for chemistry, which should be interesting. Much prefer to deliver it in person but a week in Paris would wreck the budget, I fear.

In the mean time:

1. Simon turned 21 and duly partied to celebrate the event. Now there are no 'children' at home. Ha!

2. The garden is in winter slumber but the bulbs are sneaking up. Spring is just a month away.

  1. Glad the job is going well and a week in Paris sounds like a great budget-breaker. A pity you can't go. I've enjoyed a break from my own job but your remark that spring "down under" is only a month away has reminded me that autumn here is the same distance. Why does vacation time go by faster than work time? Where's Einstein when you need him?

  2. Cost-cutting measures? Anyway, it's best not to travel overseas they say now..with the flu being rampant. Is it just the inaccurate sight of my one eye..or is real..I think you look much much slimmer now. Does work makes that happen too?

  3. Glad to hear the job is going well!

(And isn't it both strange and nice to have all the kids grown and on with their lives?)

Here it is currently the season of the zuke (zucchini gone rampant). Shortly it will be heading into the last blaze of glory as everything tries to produce that last outpouring before *gasp* winter. Probably a couple of months to go since the average date of first freeze is Oct. 10 around here.

  4. Hliza: wish it did! I'm actually a few kilos heavier than when I met you; but working on it.

  5. Nice to see you dear Lee, you look well, a lot healthier than 'Flacko' in the painting.

I was out taking some photos of my garden today as the sun was shining, some good, some not so good, I will take some more photos tomorrow if I have the time.

So you and Margaret are 'empty nesters', I wonder what that would feel like? xo ♥

  6. Not entirely empty nesters, just all the kids are over 21 now! One definitely away, one often away and one not showing any signs of budging!

  7. what's that? Chinese food sales? You're trying out the 'adsense' again?

    (probably not)

About the garden....you are barreling up as much water as you can, right?
I mean...in case it does last summer on you.

  8. Might be a case for the comment verification there? But I do appreciate the fact...
