Ozzie, the...Magpie?

.

Spent a few days up the bush, visiting a farming friend.

Some of you may remember the photos of him looking after a baby kangaroo.

This time the kitchen was filled with the 'awking' sound of two baby magpies. This one, the younger of the two, was called Ozzie. Delighted in attacking toes. Mistaken for giant grubs or just mischied making?

Can't tell.

  1. I once raised a magpie chick, unfortunately when it was time to leave the 'nest' it refused point blank. So it moved itself into my potting shed and happily raised it's family there and came to visit me whenever I was out in the garden.

  2. well, if it looks like a giant grub, might as well give it a shot, eh?
Grab the brass ring when it's there.

  4. Magpies are notorious for being attracted to all things shiny and glittery.

  5. LOL to that last comment about nail varnish!

Love the name Ozzie for a magpie.

  6. Well, at least the danger is minimal. Local editor had his stocking feet mistaken for a white rat by a Komodo Dragon whilst he was in the cage for a supervised visit. Big mistake. My bet is that he deeply regretted his wish to see a Komodo Dragon "up close."
