Sometimes
Sometimes things don't go, after all,
from bad to worse. Some years, muscadel
faces down frost; green thrives; the crops don't fail.
Sometimes a man aims high, and all goes well.
A people sometimes will step back from war,
elect an honest man, decide they care
enough, that they can't leave some stranger poor.
Some men become what they were born for.
Sometimes our best intentions do not go
amiss; sometimes we do as we meant to.
The sun will sometimes melt a field of sorrow
that seemed hard frozen; may it happen for you.

...
Nice way to start the day.
ReplyDeleteA rainy day, again.
Thanks for the lift.
I really need that today.
ReplyDeleteOh that is truly beautiful; is it one of your photo's, it's lovely.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. Thankyou.
ReplyDelete...or, sometimes we react as quickly stupid as we are, after all. Just men. We are just men.
ReplyDeleteAs in, deleting one's blog thinking it would rid the virus in the e-mail, but, after the deed done, finding out it wasn't a virus at all, but a miconfiguration (I can use the danged things, but, I've no idea what makes them tick, these danged...
no. This time it is different, so pardon the bit of honesty coming....
these DAMNED computers!)
I don't even know what a configuration is....
But, I like the flower pic y'show.
some small spark of it lets me again glow
but a new name I'll have to procure
walking on alligators is lost fer sure
And, I'll even bet "boneman" will also have to go.
Dang it!
I like the picture, don't know anything about the visual arts or the technique, but it really stands out.
ReplyDeleteNice poem, but suspect it wasn't written in recent times or it would have been titled "Rarely..."
flowers always amaze me in how delicate they look, yet how strong and resilient they are... what a beautiful poem on optimism. thank you... i hope this week follows the path of this poem. big hugs,
