Hidden away in the back yard, where the blackbirds haven't seen them*, the raspberries are giving about 10-20 berries a day. Not a big crop but consistent. They got knocked around last year by the drought. This year I have my watering sorted out a bit better.
I probably should try to accumulate enough for a pie or jam or something but they are so yummy fresh...
*Probably too full of mulberries to fly.
Those berries look really good!
ReplyDeleteMy parents have fruits growing at their backyard as well... To bad their kids don't enjoy planting them as much as eating them!
it's snowing here - what a treat to think of fresh raspberries!
ReplyDeleteIf you make jam I'll make labels?
ReplyDeleteOr be an offical taster.
You could bring a jar to France?
I always marvel at people who are patient enough to plant..those raspberries look good..
ReplyDeleteOh those look yummy indeed! I don't think I have ever seen raspberries growing!
ReplyDeleteIt's very grey and raining hard here in the UK, so to see those berries in the sunlight is an uplifting thing to behold.
ReplyDeleteOh YUMM! Raspberries are the best - let the birds eat the mulberries, who cares - as long as they leave the raspberries alone.
ReplyDeleteI love the red color ..like strawberry..but don't know about the taste..
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL picture.....and lovely berries. Mom raises them and she makes jam and pies and even a dessert with jello. She gets quite a few. I tried raising them once, but mine got blight, and never got many berries. Haven't tried to raise them since then, Mom says they take quite a bit of water. Which we have in short supply recently....
ReplyDeleteUs freezing perishers up here in the Northern Hemisphere do not appreciate being teased with Summer Fruits Fotos ...
ReplyDeleteIf I were a blackbird I would eat ALL your raspberries Mr Kennedy.
I would love some fresh berries right now!
