Our pantry, a sloping roofed room that used to be the laundry in the original house, has a tall, thin sash window in it. Margaret found it at a wreckers warehouse. There were originally two of them and they would have originated from either side of a chimney.
The urge has been lurking there to put stained glass in it. But what to do?
Below are the embryonic layouts of the two panels.
The next step is to fill in the gaps and create a life sized drawing.
...
Can't wait to see the finished product!
ReplyDeleteDesigning your own stained glass window; pretty fancy stuff. Are you going to make it as well? As butterflygirl said, it wll be neat to see the finished product. Those windows are nice but the light is calling out for use.
ReplyDeleteI love the panty's look and the tiles, are they slate?
ReplyDeleteI like the below pics but I wonder how something fruity will go, eg apples, oranges etc in the picture with green leaves, something that suits a pantry, something food-ish?
Although the water fairy is so cute I can see it in a bathroom / indoor pool rather? Just some girly thought.
The red flowers are gorgeous too.
Oh what the Hey! Go for fantasy!!
ReplyDeleteOr flowers!
what a cool looking room! my pantry is a 2 foot by 3 foot cabinet. but it is just littleol' me to feed! ;)
ReplyDeletei'm with Java on this one - something food oriented - the flowers are nice but the waiter fairy is bathroomy - what about a cornucopia?
i've always wanted to use that word in a sentence.
Beautiful! But the blue is good to keep the light cool for the pantry, and you don't get blue fruit and veg much... I say stick with the fairy if you like her.
ReplyDeleteLike the top panel .... Aren't you the lucky ducker to be able to indulge your creative urges in this way?
ReplyDeleteThe tiles are tiles, they just look like slate.
